Sports Biomechanics Screening Program
Restore you to normal function Enhance the way your body performs Educate you on ways to look after yourself
We have developed a Sports Biomechanics Screening Program for use with athletes of all levels.
It has been used by professional sporting teams (consultant role) to help rehabilitate individual players as well as by individual patients visiting the Physiotherapy clinic. It has been composed following consultation with the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra and the National Academy of Sports Medicine in the U.S.A. The program incorporates information from Physiotherapy Biomechanics from the University of Queensland, Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Sydney and the Podiatry course at La Trobe University.

It is used in two key ways
1) To comprehensively assess and identify the contributing factors that are causing chronic or recurrent injuries in athletes. This can be in the way of strength and control deficits, specific muscle imbalances, sporting or running technique faults and digestive issues or nutritional deficiencies. Byfinding and treating the underlying cause of the injury the athlete isable to rehabilitate quickly and return to their sport quickly withoutrecurrences.
2) As a pre screening before athletes of all levels begin to compete in sport or activity. This allows an athlete to address any underlying issues they may have, as research shows they are more likely to develop an injury if they were to commence physical activity with these issues present.
Leroy has recently used this program to successfully rehabilitate players with chronic injuries in the AFL, NBL, 1st grade Rugby Union, NRL, as well as international cricket players, American college Basketball players and Commonwealth Games and Olympic level Australian Track and Field athletes.
